CHRIS HUDSON
Founder & Managing Principal
Christopher Hudson is the Founder and Managing Principal of Cantera Capital. With more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience as a builder, developer, investor, and broker, Mr. Hudson has led every stage of the investment and development process, including acquisitions, design, entitlements, construction, leasing, asset management, and disposition.
His vertically integrated background, including more than 15 years as the founder of a self-performing general contracting company, provides a unique perspective on development and allows him to oversee projects from initial underwriting through completion and stabilization. Mr. Hudson remains actively involved throughout each phase of the development lifecycle and is known for his hands-on leadership, disciplined execution, and long-term investment approach.
Mr. Hudson began his career with Turner Construction in San Diego before relocating to Houston in 2011, where he founded HUDCON. Over the past 15 years, he has led the development and construction of projects representing more than $500 million in total development value across multiple asset classes throughout Texas, including more than 2,200 residential units, creating the foundation for what has evolved into Cantera Capital.
Mr. Hudson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with emphases in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California, where he was recognized as an All-American collegiate golfer.

Principal
Mr. Tate brings over 24 years of institutional real estate experience as an investor, developer, and advisor to REITs, pension funds, banks, and high-net-worth investors. Mr. Tate has been a partner in multiple complex developments in which he has spearheaded acquisition, capitalization, entitlement, and asset management activities, including securing entitlements for complex multifamily developments in Texas and Southern California. Previously, he held Vice President roles at Colliers International and Cushman & Wakefield, where he sourced, underwrote, leased, and sold ground up office and industrial development and investment projects exceeding $300 million. He holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Point Loma Nazarene University.

Principal, Capital Markets
Mr. England is a commercial growth leader who specializes in scaling go-to-market strategies and managing strategic partnerships. He brings over 24 years of organizational leadership experience across consulting (ex-Deloitte), business development, and client relationship management. Mr. England has consistently driven revenue growth, led multidisciplinary teams, and spearheaded complex organizational transformations. In his current role with Cantera, he leads capital markets and investor relations, expanding equity partnerships that help inform and add value across the firm’s development portfolio. Mr. England holds a B.S. from TCU, a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and an MBA with Finance concentration from Baylor University. Mr. England is a U.S. Army combat veteran and serves as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.
peter KOKERNOT
Director
Mr. Kokernot serves as Director at Cantera Capital, where he is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and executing multifamily development opportunities across the firm’s footprint. He has more than 10 years of commercial real estate experience with a focus on multifamily development, acquisitions, capital markets, and asset management, spanning publicly traded firms and family office platforms. Mr. Kokernot graduated from the University of Mississippi with degrees in Real Estate and Finance. A native Houstonian and seventh-generation Texan, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, and being outdoors.
